Instructor in Training

This is a non-paying position. Instructors in Training are to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by assisting with quality lessons delivered in a professional and well-organized manner.

Benefits:

  • Free season pass will be issued after successful completion of initial training.  If, after completing the training, you do not maintain your commitment to weekly lessons and sessions, your season pass will be revoked.
  • Professional training, focusing on personal skiing & snowboarding techniques and teaching practices, prep for CSIA/CASI Level 1
  • Build friendships, contacts, and strong references

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • For Ages 12+
  • Cost is $300.00 + HST  (non-refundable)
  • Commit to 7/8 weeks, starting on January 9th or 10th (you will not be volunteering on Family Weekend)
  • There is NO REFUND if your child does not pass.
  • Minimal Ski level of Adventure Bronze is required (must be able to parallel ski blue runs).
  • Outgoing personality, energetic, punctual, team player, motivated, responsible, strong communication skills, professional, safety conscious.
  • Ability to be a positive and responsible role model for younger children.
  • Safety awareness for self and others.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work wither Saturday and/or Sunday (8:45am to 3:30pm)
  • Assists Instructors to provide a fun and exciting experience for the Lakeridge clientele
  • Assists Instructors to maintain class management and safety on and off the hill
  • Ensure lift safety and effective group management
  • Aid students during chairlift and magic carpet use.
  • Act in a professional manner

Training Requirements

  • Weekly on-snow training on Saturday and/or Sunday (8:45am to 3:30pm)
  • Mandatory attendance at all 3 On-Snow training days:  December 27, 28 & 29, 2026.   Your child MUST attend all 3 days and pass the course to join the team.
  • It’s the Instructors responsibilities to regularly monitor their email for important updates and key dates.

This is an excellent opportunity for motivated your skiers and snowboarders to develop strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and teaching confidence while being part of a dynamic and supportive snow school team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Supervisor in greeting guests as they arrive at the lesson location. When required, be available to assist the supervisor by organizing groups.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing quality lessons delivered in a professional and well-organized manner.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Ensure that your day-to-day activities, in and out of lesson situations, fall within the guidelines of the Ski & Snowboard School’s Health and Safety policies.
  • Be a champion of the “Guest Experience”

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must hold a minimum Level 1 C.A.S.I.
  • Must possess excellent public relations skills and be of a friendly and co-operative nature.
  • Must be professional, energetic, and dependable.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Must be able to reason and react with quick and thoughtful judgment while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Must be confident in a team atmosphere.
  • Ski/Snowboarding experience an asset.
  • Must be 14 years of age or older.
  • Candidates must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
